Course Overview: White-Water Rafting for Beginners

This entry-level program blends fundamental technical instruction with active river runs. Designed for absolute beginners with no prior experience required, the course covers water safety, equipment handling, and crew navigation techniques. Participants learn directly under certified GETHNAA instructors in a controlled, safety-first environment.

  • Course Fee: ₹3,100/- per head (Includes Accommodation, Meals, and Professional Training)

  • Dates Available: September 12–13, 2026 | September 26–27, 2026

  • Eligibility: Open to participants nationwide (No age limit)

  • Certification: Official GETHNAA-recognized certificate awarded upon successful completion.

  • Note: Travel to and from the venue must be arranged by participants.

02-Day Course Syllabus

Day 01: Foundations & Technical Mastery

  • Orientation & Gear Familiarization: Overview of personal protective equipment (PPE), fitting high-buoyancy life jackets (PFDs), and securing rafting helmets.

  • Equipment Knowledge: Anatomy of an inflatable raft, paddle types, T-grip security, and throw-bag mechanics.

  • Basic Paddling Command Training: Dry-land drills covering essential stroke mechanics (Forward, Backward, Stop, Turn, and High/Low Bracing).

  • River Safety & Survival Tactics: Self-rescue techniques, active vs. passive swimming positions in white water, and "Over-the-Side" defensive maneuvers.

  • Initial River Entry: Flat-water drills to practice synchronization, command execution, and flip-recovery (righting a capsized raft).

Day 02: Practical Application & River Navigation

  • River Reading & Hydrodynamics: Understanding eddy lines, current speeds, hydraulics, and obstacle navigation.

  • Advanced Crew Maneuvers: Practicing aggressive paddling, ferry angles.

  • Barapole River Descent: Multi-km practical white-water run tackling rapids under direct instructor supervision.

  • Emergency Management: Live drill on throw-line rescue operations and unassisted swimmer recovery.

  • Debrief & Certification: Equipment maintenance check, final evaluation, and distribution of official course completion certificates.
